Authors I’m Looking Forward to Meeting at Shameless Book Con

Shameless Book Con is about a month away and I’m so ridiculously excited!

I was lucky enough to attend this convention last year with my sister and this year I’m attending with my mom and my sister. Even though we only live two hours away from where the event is being held, we’re still getting a hotel room so we can all hang out together in Orlando for a couple days.

Anyway, as I always do when I register for a book convention, I check out the list of authors attending the event and make a list of all the authors I want to meet. Usually, a few days before the event, the organizers release and map showing where all the authors will be sitting, so I go through that and map my course.

This time around, I figured I’d share the list of authors I’m super excited to meet at the convention … and one of their books that I’ve either read and loved or want to read.

Synopsis:
The attraction was undeniable.
I couldn’t escape him.
I didn’t want to.
I was his.
He was mine.
But he wasn’t my husband.

My once treasured marriage was now flawed and imperfect.
By the time the guilt set in, it was too late.
Reality was trying to keep me away from my obsession.
My husband was that reality.
My obsession was West.

But West was forbidden. Taken. Married.
We were swingers.
It was the perfect arrangement.

Until I fell in love…
With West.

Coming Soon: Mini-Reviews {July 2018}

It’s Sunday and I’m currently listening to late 90’s/Early 2000’s music and avoiding chores, how about you?

As you may or may not know, I pretty much write and post reviews for every book I read. This means that, unless it is a new release, the full reviews I post are of books that I read several weeks prior.

I try to write full reviews right after I read a book, but they won’t get posted for several weeks.

After seeing a few other blogs post spoiler-free mini-reviews (which I love), I decided to give it a try once a month as a little preview for what is to come.

Here are the reviews that are coming up over the next few weeks + their mini-reviews!

Things I Thought I Hated in Romance Novels (And the Books That Proved Me Wrong)

I’ve seen these questions asked many times in the book blogging community:

What do you hate in romance novels?
What tropes can’t you stand?
What are your romance novel pet peeves?

I used to have several definitive answers to this question, but slowly, as I’ve read more and more romance novels, I’ve come across so many books that have proven me so very, very wrong.

Now, whenever this question comes up, I struggle.

I struggle because even though there are many books that get these things wrong, there are still those few who get them right and part of me feels like I’d be betraying those great books if I listed those pet peeves. I know, it’s silly, but for those of you who view reading books as time spent with close friends will understand where I’m coming from.

And even if I haven’t come across a book that defies me yet, I know that one may exist – I just haven’t read it yet.

Honestly, I think this mindset could go for any genre of books. I mean, if the story is good enough? The things you think you hate can easily turn into the things you love … if done right.

Here is a list of my romance novel pet peeves… and the books that proved me wrong:

Reading List: May 2018

Hello, May!

I have a Summer resolution and that is to go to the beach more. I’m literally minutes away from the beach and around only an hour away from one of the best beaches in the US and I’ve gone maybe 3 times last year.

It’s very sad.

This weekend I’ve vowed to take a family trip to the beach.

The beach is a great place to get in some reading! So, I’m going to share with you the books I’m planning to read this month and talk about the books I read last month.

I read a total of 11 books and re-read 3 in April.

Reading List: February 2018

How in the world is it February already? SERIOUSLY.

Anyway, I almost wasn’t going to do the first part of this blog post in which I go back and see how I did on finishing the books on last month’s Reading List, but I’ve decided not to have shame in my game.

Nope.

I will, instead, accept that I am a failure. (She says before she even looks back on the list she made last month).

Alright, let’s see how she did, folks! (/end writing in third person. Sorry.)

Reading List: January 2017

tbr-asap

It’s a brand new year, and you know what that means? A brand new Goodreads Challenge is in full effect.

I blew past my goal in 2017 (I read 101 of my goal of 100 books. Check out my favorites here.) and this year I’m upping the game to 125. That’s a lot of reading for someone who works more than full time and has two little kids, but I’m ready for the challenge.

Here is what I anticipate reading in January. Of course, these things can (and likely will) change… best laid plans and all that. Here goes!
