Remember how I was fangirling hard for the cover artist that designed HannahBucchin’s novel Paintbrush ? Well, I was able to get in contact with the owner of Blue Sky Design, Savana Ellison and I asked her a bunch of questions about her career as a cover artist, just in case there were others as curious as I am about such an interesting job!
Can we take a freaking minute to gush over a gorgeous book cover?
Everyone says that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, but let me just tell you, my shallow a** totally does just that.
Maybe it’s the graphic designer in me, but a gorgeous (or awful) cover can make or break whether I pick up a book and read the back, which ultimately means it makes or breaks whether I even read it. Especially when I am browsing in bookstores, but even when I’m scrolling through Goodreads.
In any case, I’ve seen this cover a few times in several places, and I’m going to be honest, it is the only reason why I wanted to read the synopsis and had this book had a different cover, I probably wouldn’t even pick it up, but I want to display this on my bookshelf so badly, I’m probably going to grab a copy even though the book itself doesn’t sound like my cup of tea.
