Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

4-stars
Overall Rating: 4 Stars
Title: Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating
Author: Christina Lauren
Format: Audiobook purchased from Audible

Synopsis:
Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.

Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.

Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?

I knew I had to read this book when Sally Thorne, the author of The Hating Game, couldn’t stop gushing about it.

Series: Wild Seasons #1
Format: Audiobook purchased from Audible

Synopsis:
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.

But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.

This was only the second Christina Lauren novel I’d ever read and it’d had been sitting in my Audible library for quite some time.

Recently Read Mini-Reviews: March 2019

My house is, yet again, a sick house.

My oldest had a fever on Friday which turned out to be a bad cold and an ear infection that we are treating. Then, today, despite me separating the girls since my 6yo had symptoms, I got a call from my 4yo’s school saying she was running a fever.

And now my throat is scratchy.

Oy.

Wish us luck! At least next week is Spring Break for them, so they can recover.

ANYWAY…

Here are the mini-reviews for books that I’ve read recently!

Autoboyography by Christina Lauren *Favorite Read*

5-stars
Overall Rating:5 Stars
Title: Autoboyography
Author: Christina Lauren
Format: Audiobook purchased from Audible

Synopsis:
Three years ago, Tanner Scott’s family relocated from California to Utah, a move that nudged the bisexual teen temporarily back into the closet. Now, with one semester of high school to go, and no obstacles between him and out-of-state college freedom, Tanner plans to coast through his remaining classes and clear out of Utah.

But when his best friend Autumn dares him to take Provo High’s prestigious Seminar—where honor roll students diligently toil to draft a book in a semester—Tanner can’t resist going against his better judgment and having a go, if only to prove to Autumn how silly the whole thing is. Writing a book in four months sounds simple. Four months is an eternity.

It turns out, Tanner is only partly right: four months is a long time. After all, it takes only one second for him to notice Sebastian Brother, the Mormon prodigy who sold his own Seminar novel the year before and who now mentors the class. And it takes less than a month for Tanner to fall completely in love with him.

Coming Soon: Mini-Reviews {July 2018}

It’s Sunday and I’m currently listening to late 90’s/Early 2000’s music and avoiding chores, how about you?

As you may or may not know, I pretty much write and post reviews for every book I read. This means that, unless it is a new release, the full reviews I post are of books that I read several weeks prior.

I try to write full reviews right after I read a book, but they won’t get posted for several weeks.

After seeing a few other blogs post spoiler-free mini-reviews (which I love), I decided to give it a try once a month as a little preview for what is to come.

Here are the reviews that are coming up over the next few weeks + their mini-reviews!

Favorite Reads from June 2018

Guys… I’m on vacation this week and it’s a glorious thing.

Is there anything better than a Sunday before the week of your vacation?

I’m not really doing anything exciting aside from staying at home with the kiddos (it’s supposed to rain all week, so beach trips will be limited), but that’s just fine with me.

Anyway, this month was a bit of a drag for me, however I still read some great books.

Here are all of my favorites.

Book Haul: February 2018

I would like everyone to take a moment and notice that I, shockingly, did not download 8 million free Kindle ebooks this month.

Thank you, thank you. I know. First time for everything.

Of course, I fully balanced that out by spending money on a bunch of audiobooks.

In my defense, Audible had a sale and I cannot be held responsible.

Anyway, here is my February Book Haul!
