Top 10 Tuesday: The Last Ten Books That Gave Me a Book Hangover

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I feel like this week’s prompt is going to be detrimental to my well being.

Not to be dramatic or anything.

It’s just that, when I have a book hangover, it hits me HARD. Reliving all of these hangovers is going to be brutal!

#1 Credence by Penelope Douglas
I just finished this book last week for Contemporaryathon and I’m not OK. I knew I was either going to be appalled by it or love it… and I loved it. I. Need. More.

#2 Behind the Bars (Music Street #1) by Brittainy C. Cherry
I had such a great reading week for Contemporaryathon because this was another book I read and I need more books with this type of sweet, swoony, passionate hero!

#3 A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard
This was such a great YA and it was everything I wanted from it when I read the synopsis originally. I want all of the YA novels I read to live up to this one!

#4 A Heart So Fierce and Broken (Cursebreakers #2) by Brigid Kemmerer
I have no idea how I’m going to wait for the next book in the series!

#5 The Gravity of Us (Elements #4) by Brittainy C. Cherry
I need more of this type of grumpy hero in my life. This was my first Brittainy C Cherry and I’ll never be the same again.

#6 Marriage for One by Ella Maise
This is the first non-Mariana Zapata slow burn chunky romance that hit the spot for me.

#7 The Simple Wild (The Simple Wild #1) by K.A. Tucker
I haven’t read anything quite like this book since I read it a few months ago. I don’t know if it was just the romance or the combination of the Alaska setting and the love story, but I’m so excited that the next book is coming out soon!

#8 Infini (Aerial Ethereal #2) by Krista Ritchie & Becca Ritchie
This was such a fantastic forbidden romance full of all the longing that I love. I had to reread it almost immediately after reading it the first time.

#9 Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover
This book hit me like a freight train. I’d been putting it off for a long time, then I finally picked it up and it swept me away as Colleen Hoover’s best books do.

#10 Finale (Caraval #3) by Stephanie Garber
This was the finale I’ve always wanted in any series and I finally got it.

Top Ten Tuesday: Extraordinary Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Much like book covers, I’m a sucker for a great book title. I’ve been known to pick up a book because of its cover and even because of its title.

I think it takes a special kind of talent to come up with the perfect book title. Too often, I feel like this is overlooked.

The books I’ve listed below are ones that I’ve read, and whether I loved them or not is kind of irrelevant because the books listed below had the perfect titles, not just standalone, but they also were relevant to the story inside in a special way.

Extraordinary Book Titles

  1. A Lesson in Thorns
  2. The Enchanted Sonata
  3. Etiquette & Espionage
  4. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
  5. Where the Silence Gathers
  6. Atheists Who Kneel and Pray
  7. The Sky is Everywhere
  8. With Visions of Red
  9. The Sun is Also a Star
  10. To Kill a Kingdom

Happy Top 5 Wednesday!

Things have been hectic around here with school starting this week, but I couldn’t miss a Top 5 Wednesday. Especially this one since the theme is “Characters’ Fitness Routines You Want,” and I am currently on Month 3 of trying to up my fitness game.

As a little reminder, Top 5 Wednesdays is a theme/tag developed by GingerReadsLainey and moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. I discovered T5W thanks to Amanda over at A Court of Books and Love. Check out the GoodReads group if you’d like to participate, too!

Today’s Top 5 Wednesday’s theme is “Second Book is Best.”

I’m going to be grasping at straws here because, honestly, there aren’t many books that the second book in the series was leaps and bounds better than the first, in my opinion. There are some series in which books further into the series are the best and some where the first was the best. But, alas, I will try my best!

Here goes…

Top 5 Wednesday: Book Covers I’d Like to Live In

top-5-wednesday

August is the first month (hopefully of many) that I will be participating in Top 5 Wednesdays, a theme/tag developed by GingerReadsLainey and moderated by Sam from Thoughts on Tomes. I discovered T5W thanks to Amanda over at A Court of Books and Love. Check out the GoodReads group here if you’d like to participate, too!

Today’s Top 5 is “Book Covers You’d Live In: We all love a good cover but what are some covers you’d like to be transported into?

To help narrow the pickings down significantly, I’m only going to choose from books that I’ve read. I’m going strictly by the cover and not the story inside for this Top 5.

You ready to jump into some book covers with me?
