For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.
Let’s chat!
The weeks of summer have all blurred together for me.
We’ve left the house so rarely since March, and only to pick up Drive Up order from Target, and me running in quickly to the library to pick up the books I have on hold (and return others), and running into the Post Office to check my PO box.
And that’s it.
I desperately miss book shopping and shopping in general. I’ve, unfortunately, made up for it by doing a TON of online shopping, though LOL! (So. Many. Books.)
Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:
At Present I Am…
Reading
The Knockout by Sajni Patel
So far I’m adoring this YA contemporary about a badass Indian girl who is passionate about Muay Thai. She feels alienated by the Indian community and her friends from school. This book releases on 1/26/21.
Flow (Grip #0.5) by Kennedy Ryan
I somehow managed to read Book 1 in this series, Grip, before reading this prequel, so I’m finally reading it!
Watching
365 DNI… repeatedly.
Consuming
I’ve been missing a regular coffee latte this summer, so I finally invented a healthy AIP tea latte that I can actually drink!
Cinnamon Coconut Cream Iced Tea Latte
Ingredients
- Organic decaf green tea bag
- Raw local honey
- Canned organic coconut milk (with no guar!)
- Cinnamon
- Collagen Peptides Powder
In a giant insulated cup, I add about a tablespoon of honey, a couple of shakes of cinnamon, a scoop of Collagen peptides, and a tea bag. I then mix it all together with about a 1/4 cup of coconut milk while heating up water in a kettle. Once the water is warm, but not boiling, I fill the cup about halfway with the water, stir, and let it steep for a couple of minutes.
Once it has steeped, you can throw away the tea bag (I keep it in), then I fill the entire cup with ice and give it another stir.
It’s SO creamy and delicious!
Listening to
The new Taylor Swift album! I love The 1 and Mad Woman the most!
Obsessing over
These bookish candles from Page Turning Candle Co. I’ve been burning the Coffee House candle in my office while I work every day, and I’m obsessed. I also absolutely love India.

What’s Next
We have a family zoom meeting this weekend since my two nieces recently had a birthday. I miss spending time with them in person so badly!
I’m going to be in a Readalong live show with some fellow romancetubers next Tuesday and possibly a few more Tuesdays coming up. It will be on my friend Temecka’s channel at 7:30EDT next Tuesday, 8/11. We’ll be doing a 40 min reading sprint together along with anyone watching and then talking about what we read.
Both of my daughters AND my husband have birthdays this month, so we will be celebrating together. No birthday parties, of course, however, I’m renting a water slide the weekend between the girls’ birthdays so that they can play on it all weekend in lieu of a party with friends and family.

I’ve briefly listened to Taylor’s new album. So far my favorites are Exile and The 1. I’ve saved 365 DNI on Netflix to watch eventually. I’ve only been watching Hamilton lately. I’ve watched it 4 times since it’s release. I’m currently reading Ritual by Kandi Steiner which I will be finishing it today in time for the PSU live show.
