For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.
Let’s chat!
Not too much has changed around here since my last update. We’ve been staying safe and staying home just as we were last month. And I’m living my best life. I have no problem staying home!
Though, I will say, I do miss going shopping.
It hasn’t stopped me from online shopping, though. If anything my online shopping has gotten significantly worse! There is just something so satisfying and exciting when you get a package in the mail!
Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:
At Present I Am…
Reading
Fortuna Sworn by KJ Sutton
I mentioned previously that I only just realized that this is the pen name of an author I’ve loved for a very long time. I’ve been excited to read this book because the romance is supposed to be REALLY good! It’s been compared to ACOTAR! This is a self-published fantasy.
Watching
I don’t watch a lot of TV, but last night I watched almost a full episode of Beauty and the Beast – which is a lot for me LOL! I probably won’t finish watching it, but I’ve been in the mood for a swoony romance.
Consuming
I made this cucumber apple salsa that I’ve been LOVING! I can’t have tomatoes, but this is a nice substitute!
Listening to
Ben Platt’s new song!
Obsessing over
The fact that my library FINALLY got Hoopla!
What’s Next
More of the same!
The girls are finished with school on the 22nd of May and I can’t be more excited. I’m still planning on working from home as long as is necessary to stay safe, but it’ll be easier to get things done when I don’t have to help the girls with schoolwork!
I’m planning on having a Netflix party with a couple of friends when Ben Platt comes out with his Netflix special on the 20th and there is a virtual bookish event happening on the 30th that I’m planning on attending.
Unfortunately my library isn’t in hoopla. They are finally on Libby but I never use that app because I would prefer to listen to audiobooks and they don’t have very many audiobooks available. Happy Mother’s Day!!

As a librarian, I have a love-hate relationship with hoopla because financially, it’s not very sustainable for libraries BUT I am with you–I use it non-stop for audiobooks! Very much a guilty pleasure lol!!

Yeah, Libby doesn’t have a lot of audiobooks, but man that app is beautiful!

I need to remember that I have it and start seeing if I can get ebooks from them.
