My Savior… Or My Ruin?

One night, and my entire life went up in flames. All because of him. Jafar. As my world burned down around me, he offered me a choice. Walk away with nothing but my freedom… Or rise to his challenge and win my fortune back.

I bargained.

I lost.

Now Jafar owns me, and even as my mind rails against his rules, my body loves the punishments he deals out when I break them.

But a gilded cage is still a prison, I’ll do anything to obtain my freedom.

Even betray the man I’m falling for.

Review

I knew I was going to love this. And I did.

I am all about fairytale retellings. Especially new and different takes on them… and you don’t get much different than a story that completely flips the switch on the story of Aladdin.

In this version, Aladdin is the villain and Jafar is… well, I don’t know if I’d exactly call him a hero.

The story starts off with a bang. If you’re wondering what you are going to get while reading this book, you’ll understand within the first few pages.

Many times, I’m not a big fan of books that jump right into the middle of a relationship – especially a particularly steamy one – because it usually takes a while to invest in the relationship. However, within a short conversation, Katee Robert was able to establish the tension between Jafar in Jasmine – which set up the romance perfectly.

This book could have easily been too much. It could’ve been ridiculous, but it wasn’t. It was steamy. It was full of tension. It was full of swoon. And it had a fantastic ending.

Perhaps the best part was that the story came together within such a short amount of time. This book is well under 300 pages, but the story felt full and complete, but left me desperately wanting to continue in the series.
