The Kindle Klean-Up challenge was started over on The Cozy Pages.
- Make a list of the books on your kindle/ e-reader under consideration.
- Select the first 3 or 4 (or more depending on your mood).
- Read the blurbs of the books.
- Decide if you’re going to keep and read; or discard from the TBR.
- Announce your verdict.
- The next time you’re ready to post, continue from where you left off on your list.
I’m not going to list every book on my Kindle here because I have over 400. I think I’ll just list the books that I am going to determine whether they stay or get deleted.
I think I’m going to start with my oldest books and work my way up to most recently added. I went through a phase where I was adding books ALL the time … and proceeding to never read them. So… that will be fun.
Let’s do this!
Seventeen-year-old Julia is finally living the good life. She’s traded a hard cot in a Memphis orphanage for her very own room in a perfect little house, on a perfect little street, with a perfect set of parents who picked her to be their daughter.
But Julia is hiding a secret – and one fall night, she returns home from a friend’s house to find that her secret has found her. Her ‘forever home’ is ashes. Her parents are dead. And, in the sky above the flames, a winged creature hunts her.
The Nephilim King, Samyazua, has taken everything from Cayne. After struggling in the darkness for years to piece together his shattered life, Cayne is finally ready to confront his past and avenge the loss of everything he loved. He tracks Samyaza to a Memphis warehouse, where he winds up flat on his back, in the healing hands of a beautiful, dark-haired girl he doesn’t need to know.
Unbeknownst to either of them, they are already bound. Cayne’s past holds the answers to Julia’s future. But what will pose the greatest threat to her? The bounty placed on her head by the leaders of two Celestial realms, or giving her heart to a man who is bound, by birth, to break it?
My Thoughts:I full-on was about to ditch this book when I saw “YA Paranormal Romance,” but then I read the synopsis and now I’m kind of invested. I’m all about the Nephilim romance!
What if you knew when someone was going to die?
For seventeen-year-old Ember, life is death. With a simple touch, she knows when someone will die. It’s her curse and the reason she secludes herself from the world. The only person who knows her secret is her best friend Raven.
Then she meets Asher Morgan. He’s gorgeous, mysterious, and is the only person Ember can’t sense death from. So when he pushes into her life, she doesn’t mind.
But when unexplained deaths start to haunt her town, Ember starts questioning why she can’t sense Asher’s death and what he may be hiding.
My Thoughts: Let’s be real, though the premise is intriguing, I will never pick up this book. It has too much of a chance of being super cheesy Twilight-era trash.
I am a cautionary tale…The tennis golden boy who trusted the wrong person.
And now my image and my body have taking a beating. On the court, I’m down forty-love. But I’m wiser now. I won’t make the same mistake again. All I have to do is convince the woman I loved and left behind to trust me again.
My career and my heart depend on it.
Easier said than done. Good thing I’m up for the challenge. Game on.
My Thoughts: This does not have great ratings on Goodreads, and though I like the idea of a tennis romance, I don’t think I’ll enjoy this one.
Harper Madison isn’t like other girls. She has extraordinary powers, but her inability to control them has gotten her kicked from so many foster homes she’s lost count. Shadowford Home for Girls is her last chance, and she hopes Peachville High will be the fresh start she needs.
At first, life appears to be looking up for Harper. She’s making new friends and is strangely drawn to the guy next door. But when evidence ties her to the gruesome murder of a Demons cheerleader, Harper discovers this small town has a big secret.
My Thoughts: Ahhh, the whole “not like other girls” thing. ::insert eyeroll::
Bloodlust, fanatical vampire hunters, thousand-year old vendettas, and a pair of sharp, new fangs. Newly-turned vampire, Alyssa got a lot more than she bargained for when Lysander saved her from a pair of rapist on the college campus of UNLV.
Immortality is not as pretty as all the books and movies had portrayed it, and Alyssa’s having a hard time with the change.
“Becoming a vampire is easy. Living with the condition, that’s the hard part.”
Newbie vampire Alyssa never asked for this life, but now it’s all she has. Rescued from death by Lysander, the aloof and sexy leader of the Peregrinus vampire clan, she barely has a chance to break in her sharp little fangs before her immortality is put to the test.
Kallisto, an ancient and vindictive vampire queen – and Lysander’s old mate – wants nothing less than final death for her former lover and his new toy. She’s not above letting the Acta Sanctorum, and its greatest vampire hunter, Santino, know exactly where Alyssa and the clan can be found.
With danger looming on the horizon and the vampire hunters closing in, Alyssa will have to find the strength to accept this terrifying new reality. There’s no turning back now. It’s either, Carpe Noctem (seize the night), or final death.
My Thoughts: This sounds like a New Adult version of Undead and Unwed.
