Title: Vampire Academy
Author: Richelle Mead
Series: Vampire Academy #1
Synopsis:
Only a true best friend can protect you from your immortal enemies . . .
Lissa Dragomir is a Moroi princess: a mortal vampire with a rare gift for harnessing the earth’s magic. She must be protected at all times from Strigoi; the fiercest vampires – the ones who never die. The powerful blend of human and vampire blood that flows through Rose Hathaway, Lissa’s best friend, makes her a dhampir. Rose is dedicated to a dangerous life of protecting Lissa from the Strigoi, who are hell-bent on making Lissa one of them.
After two years of freedom, Rose and Lissa are caught and dragged back to St. Vladimir’s Academy, a school for vampire royalty and their guardians-to-be, hidden in the deep forests of Montana. But inside the iron gates, life is even more fraught with danger . . . and the Strigoi are always close by.
Rose and Lissa must navigate their dangerous world, confront the temptations of forbidden love, and never once let their guard down, lest the evil undead make Lissa one of them forever . . .
Review
Sooo, if you haven’t yet read this, you NEED to.
I may or may not have been dying throughout this entire book and this is only the beginning of the series.
I was so invested in the book-as I always am- but the way this was written made it so much easier to follow along with the world and rules of the academy life. I felt like I had a complete understanding of the academy like I’ve been growing up and going there my entire life.
Lissa and Rose’s friendship (love the names by the way) is so special and you can see that they really have gone through everything together and go so well with each other. You have Lissa who is sweet, careful, and loving but also holds so much strength within herself.
Then you have Rose who is stronger in her own way; she might not have the restraint that Lissa has but she does have an attitude and some serious skills. Rose and Lissa are basically the best friendship that everyone wants.
I’m telling you if you haven’t yet read this book and series and this is your type of genre, you need to. You won’t regret it and can thank me later!
