I am a list-maker by nature.
In fact, the project management tool I use at work is entirely list-based and it’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
Making New Year’s resolutions is something that I really enjoy doing every year. Even if the motivation fades, in the moment I feel extremely motivated and excited for the future.
Therefore, I make a few New Year’s Resolutions lists based on the category: Bookish, Book Blog/BookTube, Professional, and Personal. I’m hoping to share a least a couple of these with you.
Here are my Bookish New Year’s Resolutions:
Read 200 books
This year I upped my goal by 50 books and I’m struggling to reach 200! I definitely want to push myself, but I don’t think I can hit 250, so I’m going to keep it here t 200.
Read more books that I already own (audio, physical, ebooks)
I’m notorious for hoarding books. I’d really like to focus on the books that I already own.
Clean out my Goodreads TBR shelf
I already try to do this once a month – 10 books at a time – but I think I may bump that to twice a month, 15 books at a time.
Read more physical books
Because of the convenience of audiobooks, I tend to read more of those, however, I always forget how relaxing it is to just sit and read a book – without double-tasking.
Read more eBooks
I probably read less ebooks than any other format, however, it is so convenient to read eBooks. I always keep my Kindle in my purse because I never know when an opportunity will strike. I also love how easy I can highlight quotes and make notes… and then access and share them later. I just need to utilize this tool more often.
Imprint all of the books on my shelves
I bought myself this amazing little tool that imprints my name with “From the Library Of…” and I just think it’s so special! I’ve only done a handful of my books, but I’d really like to get every book I own imprinted.
Read more books written in verse
I recently finished Blood Water Paint by Joy McCullough which is written in verse, and I adored it. Not only did I read it quickly because of this, but I so appreciated the format.
Read more graphic novels
This is a type of book that I don’t frequently read, however, I’ve enjoyed reading them when I have picked them up.
These are wonderful goals and very achievable. I definitely plan on decluttering hardcore the first half of the year (as we plan on moving in July). Part of that is technology. So I’m definitely adding goodreads to that list of things I need to declutter.

I love the sound of the imprint thingy!!! Would love to see some pics 😁
I’m going to cut down on arc requests in 2020 and read my tbr. I have so many books that I’ve bought and havent read and it seems like such a waste!

It’s so awesome.
I don’t even request arcs anymore because it stresses me out way too much. And I’m too much of a moody reader.

Great goals! I also love the sound of imprinting my library!! How cool! Need to google that tool!
My goal is simply to make time to read. It’s been soo difficult this year. I’m hoping that I can find the balance between Oliver and reading. We are up every two hours at nights, still. So, I’m always falling asleep reading! Lol
