Title: For the Record
Author: Charlotte Huang
Chelsea thought she knew what being a rock star was like… until she became one. After losing a TV talent show, she slid back into small-town anonymity. But one phone call changed everything
Now she’s the lead singer of the band Melbourne, performing in sold-out clubs every night and living on a bus with three gorgeous and talented guys. The bummer is that the band barely tolerates her. And when teen heartthrob Lucas Rivers take an interest in her, Chelsea is suddenly famous, bringing Melbourne to the next level—not that they’re happy about that. Her feelings for Beckett, Melbourne’s bassist, are making life even more complicated.
Chelsea only has the summer tour to make the band—and their fans—love her. If she doesn’t, she’ll be back in Michigan for senior year, dying a slow death. The paparazzi, the haters, the grueling schedule… Chelsea believed she could handle it. But what if she can’t?
This was a fun and different book that I enjoyed reading!
This was an enjoyable story and I think it’s a good book to read for anyone who just wants and easy book that you can get caught up in. There was a lot of different things happening in this story that really conveyed how crazy Chelsea and the other band members’ lives were.
There was definitely romance in here, but not the kind I would prefer, it was almost like a love triangle, but not quite. It was more of a summer fling during their tour and everyone had one person after another in the band.
I have to say though, I did like Chelsea and Beckett’s chemistry and would have liked to see more of them and a solid relationship.
Butterfly Rating: 1 Stars
Book Boyfriend Rating
Like I said it was almost like a love triangle so I’m going to give ratings for book of the guys that caught Chelsea’s eye.
Lucas: ⅕ stars, I did not like him for a book boyfriend and wished Chelsea wasn’t with him! Beckett: ⅗ stars, he was good but of course he had his flaws, but he seemed like a good book boyfriend but didn’t do anything that took my breath away!
Age Recommendation: 14+
