Series: Once Upon a Con #1
Cinderella goes to the con in this fandom-fueled twist on the classic fairy tale.
Part romance, part love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom. Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic sci-fi series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball, and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck (and her dad’s old costume), Elle’s determined to win…unless her stepsisters get there first.
Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons—before he was famous. Now they’re nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he’s ever wanted, but the Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake—until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise.
You know I’m in love with the celebrity interest romances! Well this is one of them!
Although this book is very similar to other books I’ve read such as Cinder and Ella and Starkissed, you know it’s something you are going to get with the plot line similar to Cinderella and a girl meets this amazing celebrity guy.
But really, I love them all the same.
It’s interesting to see the different ways everyone writes the story and it still gets me every time.
Geekerella had me hooked from the very beginning and I was not disappointed! If you’re like me and you still love the cute clique romances, then this book is definitely for you! I have to say this was a very cute story with interesting minor characters.
I had this metal movie playing in my mind very clearly the entire time and I enjoyed it!
Butterfly Rating: 1 Star
This was a cute story but not really any butterflies!
Book Boyfriend Rating: 4 stars
Darien Freeman was a sweet guy (when he wasn’t avoiding the paparazzi and mad bloggers!) I thought he was a good book boyfriend, a perfect fit for Elle!
