Title: The Harvest
Author: K.B. Benson
Series: Call of the Sirens #1
ARC received for an honest review:
Sometimes the most beautiful things grow in darkness.
Iris never expected to live her life trapped on land. Nor was she prepared for what she would find there. A siren isn’t supposed to fall in love with her prey.
When Jace moved to Santa Cruz, he never imagined he’d risk his life to protect a monster. He soon finds that ancient myth has become reality. And not every pretty face is what it seems.
After Iris sings her siren’s song to Jace — a hypnotic melody that leads men to death beneath the waves — both of their worlds are turned upside down. Will Iris give in to her bloodlust or will she turn her back on everything she’s ever known?
As the tide runs red with the blood of the Harvest, Iris must choose: save the life of the human boy she loves or sacrifice her chance at humanity forever.
This book was amazing and right up my ally!
This book was so good!!! It kept me engaged throughout the entire book! I finished it really quickly and enjoyed all of it. The entire book was very enthralling and even had some plot twists in it that I really enjoyed! From the very beginning, I thought that the prologue gave a really good start to kind of show how this story was going to feel but also, it’s importance in the end. Every chapter held my attention and I knew this was my type of book! I liked how outgoing and sweet Jace was and from the beginning, Jace and Iris had a connection. Although I liked Jace and Iris’ connection, I felt that in the beginning it needed a little more detail to show what really fueled their chemistry, but I really liked it all the same. I also really liked the idea of two POVs and I expected the views to go back and forth but it was nice to have a lot of Jace’s POV throughout the story and it kept it mysterious, along with Iris’ POV mixed in. I definitely would read the other books in this series especially with the ending that this book had!
