From Audie Award winning, New York Times best-selling author Kylie Scott comes an irresistible new romance – available in audio first!
When a vicious attack leaves 25-year-old Clementine Johns with no memory, she’s forced to start over. Now she has to figure out who she was and why she made the choices she did – which includes leaving the supposed love of her life, tattoo artist Ed Larsen, only a month before.
Ed can hardly believe it when his ex shows up at his tattoo parlor with no memory of their past, asking about the breakup that nearly destroyed him. The last thing he needs is more heartache, but he can’t seem to let her go again.
Should they walk away for good, or does their love deserve a repeat performance?
Review
I loved this book from the first page.
Actually, I loved this book from the premise.
A girl who lost her memories and walks back into her ex’s life unknowingly? Yes, freaking, please.
Kylie Scott knocked it out of the park with this one. So few stories can achieve the instant buy-in that I had with this book for me. I mean, it opens with our main character, Clementine, walking into her ex boyfriend’s tattoo parlor – not realizing she and him just had a REALLY bad breakup – and him confronting her immediately.
I loved being inside Clementine’s head, trying to figure out what the hell happened right along with her… and while second-chance romances aren’t usually my favorite, when they are done like this, I can totally get on board.
I loved watching as the entire love story rebuilt itself. I loved learning about how epic their love story was and desperately wondering what horrible, unforgivable thing could have happened to tear them apart… all while knowing that somehow it would all be resolved – just not really know exactly how it would happen.
As I was reading, one fun thing that stood out to me was that Clementine would get to experience all her Firsts all over again: the first time she reads her favorite book or listens to her favorite song or watches her favorite movie. It was fun experiencing that with her as well.
