Title: My Life With the Walter Boys
Author: Ali Novak
Series: My Life with the Walter Boys #1
Synopsis:
My Life with the Walter Boys centers on the prim, proper, and always perfect Jackie Howard. When her world is turned upside down by tragedy, Jackie must learn to cut loose and be part of a family again.
Jackie does not like surprises. Chaos is the enemy! The best way to get her successful, busy parents to notice her is to be perfect. The perfect look, the perfect grades-the perfect daughter. And then…
Surprise #1: Jackie’s family dies in a freak car accident.
Surprise #2: Jackie has to move cross-country to live with the Walters-her new guardians.
Surprise #3: The Walters have twelve sons. (Well, eleven, but Parker acts like a boy anyway)
Now Jackie must trade in her Type A personality and New York City apartment for a Colorado ranch and all the wild Walter boys who come with it. Jackie is surrounded by the enemy-loud, dirty, annoying boys who have no concept of personal space. Okay, several of the oldest guys are flat-out gorgeous. But still annoying. She’s not stuck-up or boring-no matter what they say. But proving it is another matter. How can she fit in and move on when she needs to keep her parents’ memory alive by living up to the promise of perfect?
Review
Talk about an eventful life, this book is full of crazy adventures!
The first thing that surprised me about this book was how quickly it started and I wasn’t expecting it but I liked it.
There was never a part where I was bored with the story or waiting for it to kick up. This book also had a serious love triangle but I still am kind of unclear of where everyone stands in it and there might be an upcoming second book to this series but for now, it was interesting how everything turned out.
I thought that this was a fun story because of all the excitement with so many characters in one setting. I think that it was an important part to the story that was key to making it so interesting. The amount of character, mostly referring to the twelve boys, I think it brought the book to life in a way that made you feel like you knew each of the characters personally.

Book Boyfriend Rating:
SPOILER ALERT! Okay, this was a crazy, insane love triangle and not because of the battle between the boys to win Jackie over, but also I could barely make up my mind about each of them. At first, I thought Jackie would surely end up with Cole but when the whole thing with her ending up with Alex, I actually really liked it. Now the confusing part is I loved it when they were friends and also loved when they were together but then I felt like maybe they weren’t as good together as they were friends. But I was still sad when the broke up but I feel like they broke up for the right reasons. With Cole, I feel like there is a deeper side that we do get a glimpse of but I didn’t fall for him as much as all the other girls in the story did. Usually if a book boyfriend is a player like Cole, they can wow me so much I fall in love with them but Cole didn’t really have that effect on me. For both of them, I’m going to rate them a ⅗ stars. They were nice as book boyfriends but I have high expectations for my fantical love life!
