For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.
Thank you again to everyone’s well wishes for my dad and your compliments on my poem for him. He got through the surgery well and even though it was really hard see him in pain during recovery, he’s back to his normal exercising. We won’t know if the procedure worked for a couple months (it takes 90 days to know for sure), but fingers crossed it worked. He’s been occupied reading all of Mariana Zapata’s books and his cowboy romances (LOL!)
February was a bit of a rough month for me, between worrying about my dad, the girls getting sick for DAYS, and work being absolutely insane, my anxiety levels were sky-rocketing and I’m still coming down from it. Anytime I have a huge panic attack like I did a few weeks ago, it’s always followed up by several mini ones… kind of like aftershocks.
I know this part of the rollercoaster will ebb soon, so I’m trying not to worry about it or let it control my life too much.
Otherwise, in the reading-world it’s been fantastic! I had a great reading month despite the craziness!
Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:
At Present I Am…
All the BookTube in all the world.
On the rare occasion I actually am watching something instead of reading, it’s BookTube.
This is doing bad things to my TBR shelf.
I’m weirdly obsessed with Panera’s parfaits. Like… I even called them to find out what yogurt they used because it’s the most glorious greek yogurt of my life. Unfortunately it’s the brand Brown Cow which isn’t available at my local grocery store and while I’d love to make my own parfaits, I NEED that yogurt to do it right!
For some reason this is the song my daughters and I are obsessed with right now. I have no idea how this happened.
Going book shopping, which is extraordinarily terrible to my wallet. I’m just obsessed with spending at least a few hours each weekend at the bookstore. It’s so relaxing and fulfilling and my wallet hates me.
This weekend we are taking Roree to see Captain Marvel. Violet still gets a little too antsy to sit through a movie, so we’ll probably need to get a babysitter for her.
Tomorrow my 6yo is cheering at her first game (it’s the faculty vs student game and they are doing the halftime performance) I can’t freaking wait to see her out there. She’s so excited. It’s going to be adorable.
I have a manicure date with my niece tomorrow as well, my daughter is in her first musical production next week, I’m seeing Five Feet Apart AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE and will likely drag my favorite romantic movie buddy with me, I’m getting my hair dyed, I’ve got a book club meeting to talk about The Beast’s Heart, and then at the end of the month I have a few days off during the girls’ Spring Break.
Lots to look forward to!
