TeaChat: Witches and Water

For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.

Let’s chat!

January was such a fun month for me, despite some minor hiccups along the way.

I started the month off with the last half of my winter break and although it was hard to get back to work, I definitely appreciated the extra two weeks spent at home with my family.

January also was an awesome reading month for me, I read a bunch of 5 star books and added several favorites to my all-time list.

I even got up the nerve to start a BookTube channel! It’s terrifying and time-consuming, but I’m having so much fun with it.

Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:

At Present I Am…

Reading

Time’s Convert by Deborah Harkness
38395454

I’m absolutely loving being back in this world again!

Writing

I actually wrote my first poem in months. Unlike stories, which kind of flow fairly steadily, poetry tends to force its way out of me in a torrent. I couldn’t ignore it if I tried.

I’ve debated sharing some of my poetry here, but my poems are so personal and I’m also not sure if it’s something you’d be interested in reading. Let me know in the comments!

Watching

A Discovery of Witches TV Show!

Even though the actors don’t look as I pictured, their acting is so on point, I’m obsessed.

Consuming

I’m obsessed with the Bubly water.

To me, they are more flavorful than La Croix. My favorites are Cherry and Lime.

Listening to

Ben Platt’s new songs!

OMG his freaking voice, I can’t wait for the entire album.

Obsessing over

BookOutlet.com

I’ve placed 4 orders in the past two months, guys, I need an intervention.

What’s Next

I’m visiting my parents with my sisters next week and we’re planning on chatting about our book club book and watching Discovery of Witches together.

It’s my sister’s birthday month, so I’m sure we’ll be doing something for that. I always love my family time.

I’m not sure if The Hubs and I will be doing anything particularly special for Valentine’s Day, but we usually have a nice homemade dinner with the girls the day of and try to schedule a date day over the weekend.

Tell me… what have you been up to lately? What’s up next?

    1. I’m on Chapter 24 right now and it’s pretty slow, but I love the characters so much that I’m kind of OK with it. It hasn’t captured me the way the rest of the series did, but I’m enjoying it. I’ve always loved Marcus. 🙂
