Colleen Hoover draws you in to this passionate tale of music, love and betrayal…
I am still swooning from this novel and I may never stop.
I’m also kicking myself for putting off reading this one for so long. If I’m being honest, the main reason why I didn’t pick it up for the months I’ve owned it is that I was terrified it’d be as intense as It Ends with Us and I wasn’t sure I could handle it.
Don’t get me wrong, this book definitely gives you all sorts of feels and heartache, but it wasn’t anything like It Ends with Us.
I loved every. Single. Character. In this book. Even the ones I probably wasn’t supposed to. I loved.
The chemistry between Sydney and Ridge was breathtaking and heartbreaking and intense and everything I hope a romance novel will bring to the table.
I was getting Beethoven Immortal Beloved vibes from Ridge so much so that I had to call my mom in the middle of reading this book and rave.
To those that don’t know, my mom is obsessed with Ludwig van Beethoven. I know more about Beethoven than any other historical figure because I was raised listening to his music and hearing all about him. My mom has always had an entire room dedicated to all of her Beethoven paraphernalia.
It’s 100% her fault that I’m obsessive. It’s in my genes.
Anyway, the way Ridge perceives music and creates it is gorgeous and very similar to how Beethoven wrote entire symphonies. He’d put a piece of wood in his mouth and touch it to the piano or rest his cheek on the piano to feel the vibrations.
Can you imagine having a deep passion for music and then losing your hearing?
Can you imagine falling in love with someone you can’t have who does?
This book was gorgeous. With that being said, I don’t know if I’ll read the other books in this series… in fact, a series seems unnecessary, but we shall see.
