For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.
Let’s chat!
Funny story: my dad recently started reading romance novels.
My dad, who watches TV any time he is home, (driving my mom crazy because she’s a bookworm like me) has taken up reading romance novels and my mom, sisters, and I are living for it.
It all started when he was babysitting my daughters one day and he grabbed a novel off the shelf, at random, and started reading. From that point on, he was hooked. I’ve been giving him books every time he finishes a new one. He particularly likes contemporary romance and just discovered the gloriousness that is Mariana Zapata.
I’m trying to decide if I want to let him read my novel.
Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:
At Present I Am…
Reading
Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J Maas on audio and Cards of Love: Five of Cups by Trisha Wolfe in Kindle.
I’m not a hardcore fantasy fan and Kingdom of Ash walks that line, for me. I”m slogging through it right now, but it is one of those books that I absolutely MUST finish. It’s the last book in the series and I need to know what happens!
As for Trisha’s book, it’s beautifully written. I’ve only just started and have already found myself highlighting everything.
Watching
I’ve been randomly obsessed with Dude Perfect videos.
These videos are why I always hung out with guys growing up… they are endlessly entertaining in their ridiculousness.
Consuming
All the Halloween candy in the world. But, I swear, I’m going to be good this week.
Listening to
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PANIC! AT THE DISCO COVERED THE GREATEST SHOW AND I AM SO HERE FOR IT!

Obsessing over
See above!
I cannot wait for the entire reimagined album comes out!
What’s Next
I have a girl’s weekend coming up – my sister and I are staying at my parent’s house for a night, just to kind of have a mini vaca together.
I’ve also promised myself that I’ll get back on the bandwagon of health and fitness that I fell off of when I got sick! At least until Thanksgiving 😉
I am counting down until my Thanksgiving week vacation. It is desperately needed.
I love that your dad reads romance. So awesome!
I hope you have a great weekend with your sister!

So still thinking about your dad and the romance novels! Lol. Does that mean your mom gets him to watch less tv then? 😉

Yes! As soon as he finishes a novel my mom is like, “PLEASE GIVE HIM ANOTHER ONE ITS BEEN SO NICE NOT HAVING THE TV ON!”

So funny that your dad is reading romance, but I am more interested in your mini vaca with your sister. Jealous actually. I have no sisters and always wanted one. Now that I a am an adult I have a step-sister, but we lack that closeness that comes from growing up together. At least I have my brothers. 🙂

I am loving that my dad asks me for book recommendations and my mom is like, “please give him more to read, I’m so glad the TV is off more often.” LOL!
I’m SUPER close with my siblings (I have two older sister and an older brother) and these types of mini vacas are so much fun. I was extremely lucky to be born into a family of people I love hanging out with!
