TeaChat: 10Ks & All The Apples

For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.

Let’s chat!

Is it just me or did September barely even exist?

August was full of birthdays, but at least I felt like it happened. With September… I feel like I blinked and it was over! So. Weird. Have you ever had months like that? I’ve had weeks like that and days like that, but this is the first time a month has done that for me.

I spent most of September training for my 10K at the end of the month. It was the Hooters to Hooters 10K and I managed to convince my dad to do it with me. At the end of the race you get free wings and beer, however, what they don’t tell you is that when you’re not at ALL an athlete (me), after you’ve just finished 6.2 miles at 10am in a million degrees, the last thing you want is beer and wings.

I just wanted to chug a bottle of water, cut off my legs, and die slowly.

I feel like I could do an entire blog post on my 10K because it was quite the entertaining adventure – even down to WHY I made my dad do it with me, but I’ll save that for another day.

Anyway… onward to the usual TeaChat updates:

At Present I Am…

Reading

I’m challenging myself to finish all the books in my Audible library (I have so many unread books that I bought and never read) before I continue with my membership. It’s the ultimate challenge.

I’m currently reading Darkness Dawns (Immortal Guardians #1) by Dianne Duvall. I literally just started this, so I have no real opinions just yet.

I’m in the mood for an epic romance, so I’m purposely reading all of my paranormal and fantasy books.

Watching

Honestly? I’ve been mostly reading, but when I need a break between books, I just watch random-ass YouTube videos. Mostly just what is recommended to me.

I kind of want to start a TV show, but I also don’t because I’m six books behind on my Goodreads Challenge and I need to step it up since the year is almost over!

Consuming

ALL THE CANDY APPLES!

My all-time favorite candy apples are seriously the cheap-ass ones you buy at the grocery store with the peanuts. I’ve had gourmet candy apples, but the grocery store ones always win.

For some reason I always forget about how much I love these damn things every year until October rolls around and I’m like, “Oh yeah! These are the best thing ever made!”

Listening to

BTS! I’m absolutely obsessed with Euphoria.

Obsessing over

My Apple Watch and my AirPods.

I literally just took those pictures while sitting here updating this blog post. Sorry for the quality LOL!

I finally broke down and bought one since the Series 3 price dropped with the release of Series 4.

It has made my life so much easier – listening to audiobooks and exercising are the two main things that have been great.

I have the cellular version, so I don’t even need my phone with me to work out or listen to audiobooks. My favorite audiobook app (Audible) and my favorite workout app (FITbod) are both compatible with the Apple Watch.

It’s so nice to not have to lug my phone around with me on the trail or in the gym or around the house.

And the Airpods? Omg, such a life saver. The only earbuds that fit in my ears are Apple earbuds and I can’t stand wires. I listen to audiobooks when I do chores around the house and not having the wires in the way while I’m cleaning is so, so nice.

What’s Next

Tell me… what have you been up to lately? What’s up next?

  1. Congrats on the 10k!!!!!! And I feel the exact same way about September! My roommate and I were talking last night about time has been going by so quickly, and how it’s crazy that it’s October. Like honestly, when did that happen?
