Title: Prince Charming
Author: CD Reiss
Format: Audiobook purchased from Audible
Keaton Bridge is exactly the kind of guy a straight-arrow like Cassie doesn’t need.
For one thing, he’s a criminal—and she fights crime for a living. And being criminally handsome isn’t helping her say no, either. Everything about him screams trouble, from his British accent to his mysterious past.
And Cassie doesn’t do trouble.
Keaton’s got his own trouble. He’s trying to go legit, and an FBI agent hanging around is the last thing that will help his credibility. All it took was one night of passion to sear her into his skin. Now he can’t imagine living happily ever after without her.
All they have to do is walk away.
But neither of them ever walks away from danger.
All three CD Reiss books I’ve read so far have been so satisfying and this one was no different.
I’ve been intrigued by Keaton since I read King of Code (the first CD book I’ve ever read) and I was so excited when I saw that this was his story!
What I wasn’t excited about was that his love interest, Cassie, was an FBI agent.
I’m not entirely sure why. Particularly after reading With Visions of Red by Trisha Wolfe in which the main character is an FBI agent and I loved both her and the story.
I guess I just had a Mama Bear in Overprotective Mode moment with Keaton in which I felt no character could possibly be good enough for him. Have you ever felt that way? You’ve fallen in love with a secondary character in a series so much that you felt like no one could be good enough for them by the time their book came around in a series?
Anyway, I dove into this book head first and wasn’t disappointed. This story was gorgeously written (because… I mean… CD Reiss), it was interesting and dramatic and romantic and super steamy. I loved Keaton and Cassie’s story, despite my overprotectiveness.
The #1 thing I love about this world is that though King of Code, White Knight, and Prince Charming are all intertwined, you absolutely can read any one of these books in any order and it’ll still be fantastic.
Have you still not read a CD Reiss book? GET ON IT!
