Title: Us
Author: Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Series: Him
Format: Audiobook purchased from Audible
Synopsis:
Five months in, NHL forward Ryan Wesley is having a record-breaking rookie season. He’s living his dream of playing pro hockey and coming home every night to the man he loves—Jamie Canning, his longtime best friend turned boyfriend. There’s just one problem: the most important relationship of his life is one he needs to keep hidden, or else face a media storm that will eclipse his success on the ice.
Jamie loves Wes. He really, truly does. But hiding sucks. It’s not the life Jamie envisioned for himself, and the strain of keeping their secret is taking its toll. It doesn’t help that his new job isn’t going as smoothly as he’d hoped, but he knows he can power through it as long as he has Wes. At least apartment 10B is their retreat, where they can always be themselves.
Or can they?
When Wes’s nosiest teammate moves in upstairs, the threads of their carefully woven lie begin to unravel. With the outside world determined to take its best shot at them, can Wes and Jamie develop major-league relationship skills on the fly?
Review
It was so nice being back in Wes and Jamie’s world again
My thoughts on this second novel in this series are much like my thoughts on the first – it was an absolute pleasure reading Wes and Jamie’s story. I fell even more in love with these characters and became intrigued by the side story that began to develop (and eventually told in Good Boy – the first book in the WAGs series!)
I typically don’t like books that follow the same couple throughout a series much beyond two books, so I’m glad that (so far anyway) HIM seems to be a duet. Both books felt necessary. The first to establish Wes and Jamie’s relationship and the second to address the secrecy that began toward the end of that book.
There was humor, a touch of angst, lots of steamy moments, and a whole lot of sweetness.
It had been awhile since I read about these two and reading this book after so long felt like coming home to two best friends.
Audiobook Performance: 5 stars
I mean, you can’t go wrong with Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan!
Butterfly Rating: 4 Stars
Not as many butterflies in this one as the first, but that is likely because there is nothing quite like the fall.
Re-read Worthiness: Maybe!
There is a strong possibility I’ll reread this series!
Bookshelf Placement: Yes
I’d love to have the series on my shelf!
Book Boyfriend Rating: 5 stars
I loved both of these boys just as much this time around as I did last time 🙂
I haven’t heard of this series, it sounds brilliant! I’m normally not a massive fan of series, so it’s good to know both are ‘necessary’. Is the series only 2 books, or are there more to come?

There are two books following this couple and then there is a spin-off series called “WAGS” 🙂
I love duets and trilogies, but sometimes series can drag on for me!

Great review! My book club is reading HIM this month, and it’s my first m/m romance. Kind of nervous about it, which is weird since I’ll really read anything! I guess I’m just overwhelmed because it seems like such a ‘different’ type of romance. I’m running out of time and glad to hear that you’ve enjoyed the series so much!

Him is such a great read. If you’re a fan of contemporary romance, I expect you’ll love it. The chemistry is through the roof! Enjoy!
