Good evening, lovely friends! I’m sitting here in my library with my 5yo daughter while she does her homework. I love these quiet moments with her. I feel like it’s go, go, go all day during the week, it’s nice to sit down and relax together, working side by side.
Anyway, because I’m the slowest person ever, I’m finally doing this Blogger Recognition Award tag. I’m so grateful to have been recognized by two really kickass blogs for this award: Book Bosomed Blonde and Flying Paperbacks.
Give them a follow if you love books and great content!
- Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
- Write a post to show your award.
- Give a brief story of how your blog started.
- Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
- Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
- Comment on each blog and let them know you have nominated them and provide the link to the post you created.
How I Started My Blog
This blog was born out of my love for Goodreads and making a point to write reviews for all the books I read.
I noticed that a lot of my Goodreads friends would link back to their own blogs and I was loving all the content they had, so I decided to give it a shot, too.
And I couldn’t be happier with that decision!
My Advice for New Bloggers
Cherish the Community
The book blogging world, especially here on WordPress, is full of interesting, truly great people. Connecting with them and reading their blogs is not only helpful in growing your blog, but there is also something so comforting in having such a large group of people that are just as passionate as you are.
Love What You Do
Your blog should be your happy place. The second you start getting stressed out trying to maintain it is the moment it is not worth it anymore. Take a step back and reevaluate. I’m sure there are enough stressful obligations in your life… no need to make your blog one of them.
I’m going to break the rules here and I’m not going to tag anyone specific. Instead, I strongly encourge those who haven’t done this tag to do it! It’s fun hearing about how different blogs were started and the things you’ve learned in the process!
