Things I Love Lately is a monthly post dedicated to all the random sh*t I’ve been loving recently that don’t necessarily have to do with books.
Is it just me or are the weekends getting shorter and shorter? I’m counting down the days until summertime when I get Fridays off, too!
Anyway, being the material girl that I am, I love these types of posts by bloggers. I’ve found quite a few really fun things thanks to these types of posts!
Things I’ve Been Loving Lately
Goody Women’s Athletique Sweat Stretch Elastics
You guys. These are the best hair ties for messy buns.
I hate when my ponytails or buns are super tight. First of all, it hurts (especially when those tight hair ties pull small pieces, it’s like a stabbing sensation on your head!) and since I have super fine hair, it’s important for me to get as much volume as I can when I pull my hair back so that I don’t look bald.
These hair ties are perfect. They are the most comfortable to wear and while they hold really well, they don’t pull either.
Granted, I haven’t actually tried them for working out, but they work great for every day!
Mac Original Prep + Prime Fix+
To be honest, I have no idea if this makes my makeup stay any longer than any other setting spray, but the smell is so good and it’s so refreshing to use.
I love that this spray helps keeps my face from looking too powdery.
Also, the best part, this mister is on point. I’ve gone through so many drug store brand setting sprays and the mist is too thick or by the end of the bottle, it gets all messed up. This bottle keeps the mist fine and not like a water gun.
Japonesque High Density Foundation Brush
I can’t tell you how long I’ve been on the hunt for The Perfect foundation brush.
While I love Real Techniques, their foundation brushes were a total fail for me. Their regular foundation brush was way too soft and streaky, then their Artisse knock-off brush pulled at my skin.
This foundation brush is the first I’ve tried from Japonesque and I’m not disappointed. The bristles are the perfect density and the fact that it is triangle shaped helps get all the corners of the face. It takes me half the time to put on my foundation, now!
Phone case + pop socket
I’m absolutely living for my iPhone Case and Pop Socket combo.
I spent an embarrassing amount of time searching for the perfect case and socket, and I think I nailed it this time.
Elf Lip Exfoliator
I use this a few times a week and I haven’t had any issues with dry lips. My lipstick has been looking gorgeous — even when it is super matte!
I just scrub this on, rub it in a bit, then wipe it off and put on a balm.
OGX Organix Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner
I’m a big fan of Argan Oil and this brand, so when I saw this combo I was super excited to pick it up.
My hair has been great, but more than that, the smell of this shampoo and conditioner combo once you use it… omg it’s so glorious.
I’m kind of weird about shampoo and conditioner. Yes, I want it to work and all, but more than anything I want my hair to smell amazing and I want it to last until my next shampoo.
Great post Bree!
I love the Fix + too! Have you tried any of the scented ones? The coconut was my favorite.
Also, those ELF lip exfoliators are amazing! I keep one in my medicine cabinet.

I haven’t tried any other scents because I’m SO deeply obsessed with the original. I want to go to Sephora and sniff them 😂😂

I am also spending an annoyingly long amount of time looking for a phone case. I found my pop socket though. I thought I had a great phone case had it three days and it discolored 😦 I emailed the company and they refunded me the money I paid but now I have to find another one! ugh the search continues!

I love this post!! I think I’ll look into that foundation brush because I’ve been wanting to try a foundation brush for a while now but had no clue where to start!

Yay! I’m glad it was useful for you. Definitely try it out. Depending on the foundation you use it could make it a little streaky, but I spray a little Fix+ on a beauty blender and pat it down. I just like that it applies fast and a light layer.
