Book Blogger Insider Tag

I don’t think I’ve ever really gone into detail about my blog/blogging style before, so I’m pretty excited to do this tag! Thank you to Panic at the Bookstore for tagging me (who not only has a fantastic blog, but the best freaking name ever).

1. Answer the questions below
2. Credit the creator Jamie @ALittleSliceofJamie
3. Tag at least 5 people
4. Have fun!

Where do you typically write your blog posts?
I have a fun little reading chair in my library at home that I use to read (obviously), work, and write blog posts. I occasionally (but rarely) write my blog posts at work during down time.

How long does it generally take you to write a book review?
Not long. Only about 10-15 minutes.

When did you start your book blog?
July 2017

What is the worst thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The unnecessary stress I put on myself to make sure I post every day, and to read other blogs and comment every day… even though I love doing all those things, sometimes life and my full-time job get stressful and I don’t want to do anything but curl up in bed and read — I end up feeling guilty if I don’t work on the blog every day.

What is the best thing about having a book blog in your opinion?
The. People. 100%. All of you guys are my very favorite thing.

What blog post have you had the most fun writing so far?
Hmmm… that’s tough. Randomly enough, I really like writing the posts that list my favorites from Audible sales. I love Audible and I love audiobooks, so it totally gives me an excuse to go through and find all the goodies. I also loved listing my favorite book boyfriends!

What is your favorite type of blog post to write?
I love Favorites posts and writing reviews.

When do you typically write?
I write reviews as soon as I can, but I plan out most of my blog posts months in advance. I leave an open space every other day for posts that pop up. Since I work 40+ hours a week and have two little girls, I rely heavily on scheduling my posts. Whenever I have downtime at home (usually on the weekends) I’ll write and schedule my posts for the upcoming week. One day I’ll do a full post on my blogging technique!

Do you review every book you read?
Yes. It’s something I’ve committed to doing. The only time I don’t review a book is if I don’t finish it. Everything else is fair game!

How do you write your book reviews? With a cup of coffee or tea? With Netflix? Cuddled with your fur baby?
I sit in my reading chair, typically with a cup of tea 🙂

When do you write your book reviews? Right after finishing the book? Two weeks after finishing the book?
I try to write my reviews immediately after I read a book, but sometimes it takes a day or two to get to it.

How often do you post?
I’ve been posting every day since December!

  1. This is awesome! I loved your answers, though i was the happiest when i read how much less time it takes you to write a blog post. It takes me around half an hour and so many people were surprised by it, i was starting to think that i’m going wrong somewhere haha.

  2. Thanks for the tag sweets! It’s so great that you can write up a review in 10-15 mins. It usually takes me a few days, but I do a quick draft right after I finish reading a book. It just gets a bit difficult when I’m reading a lot of romances and then my reviews all sound pretty much the same, so I try to make sure I use different wordings. LOL. Totally agree with you on the worst and best part of having a blog. I feel like I can never keep up with visiting other people’s blog. I usually would wait until I have the time and visit a few bloggers and just go through all the posts I missed. Sometimes it even takes me a day or two to respond to comments.

Anyway, adding this to my neverending blogging to do list! =)

    1. Haha don’t feel obligated to do it, I TOTALLY understand what it’s like! I really do want to read your answers, though, so whenever you get to it, I’ll be waiting! LOL!

    1. LOL! I kind of didn’t mean to start posting every day, but it just sort of happened and then I felt like I set this precedence for myself and there was no going back lol! If it ever becomes too much, I’ll dial back, but it’s been fine so far!
