For those of you who are new around here, TeaChats are a monthly post that I do in which I pretend that you and I are going out and grabbing a cup of tea (or coffee or wine) and we’re chatting about what we’ve been up to lately.
February was a LOVEly month around here… minus a couple of rounds of sickness that made its way through my house (AGAIN!).
My husband and I played “hooky” (and by hooky, I mean we used PTO days) from work so that we could spend some time alone together while the girls were in school.
We very rarely get to hang out alone these days as babysitters are hard to come by… and I definitely have major mom guilt any time I am away from the girls too much since I work full time.
During our little staycation we saw two movies: The Shape of Water and Black Panther, went shopping, and went out to eat before picking the girls up from school.
Black Panther was AMAZING! I had goosebumps the entire time. The Shape of Water was… weird, but I respect it.
Anyway, let’s jump into the categories of what I’ve been up to lately.
At Present I Am…
With Visions of Red (With Visions of Red: Broken Bonds #1) by Trisha Wolfe.
I’m only a couple of chapters in, so I don’t really have too much of an opinion yet… aside from the fact that I have a feeling this book is going to be just as effed up as Trisha’s other books (and that’s not a bad thing!) My reviews for the Madly, Darkly Duet will be up next month.
I’ve been reading A TON of books lately (for me, anyway) so, I feel like I’ve been writing a review every day!
Not much, actually.
I’ve been reading or working on the blog in my spare time. The last movie I watched at home was the first one in a while and it was The Hunger Games. I bought it from iTunes since it was on sale for under $10.
I just haven’t been in a TV or YouTube watching mood since last month.
Tonight I actually just made a really delicious soup!
It’s a “skinny” cheeseburger soup… I don’t know how healthy it really is, but it was yummy! My whole family really liked it.
All the great books I’ve been reading lately!
Aside from one dud, I have been on a rockin’ readin’ roll! (I’m sorry, that was so corny.) Unless you follow me on Goodreads, I’m afraid you’ll have to wait for my round-up post next month, along with all my reviews for said books, but trust me! It’s been fantastic!
March will be another fun month.
I’ll be helping my sister put together her home library in her new house. We’re turning it into a sleepover with my other sister and my mom. We’re such dorks.
I also won a “Discover Orlando” package at the girls’ school auction, so I have tickets to all sorts of Orlando-based attractions. This month I’m taking the girls to the Crayola Experience. I’m pretty excited about it and I know they’ll love it 🙂
