I’m just going to say it: this blog post is a total cop out. Why? Because I couldn’t bring myself to say “Top 10 Favorite Book Boyfriends.”
I chickened out and instead went with “10 of my Favorite,” just in case I forgot someone or changed my mind or — even more crazy — felt I was being disloyal to one of my many book boyfriends.
In any case, here are 10 of my favorite book boyfriends on this wonderful Valentine’s Day!
Rhysand | A Court of Thorns and Roses Series
He said down the bond, “I would have waited five hundred more years for you. A thousand years. And if this was all the time we were allowed to have… The wait was worth it.”
He wiped away the tears sliding down my face. “I believe that everything happened, exactly the way it had to… so I could find you.” He kissed another tear away.”
The book boyfriend against which I measure all other book boyfriends. I have never fallen so hard as I fell for Rhysand and the aftershocks have been almost as pleasurable as the initial falling.
Fear | Some Quiet Place
“Fear,” I say without thinking. I don’t know why.
And that’s all it takes. One strangled word, his name, his essence, and Fear is there, a gust of frozen fury. Yet the hands that cup my face are gentle, and it’s as if I’m made of something more breakable than glass. As if I’m infinitely precious.
I mean… read the book. Just do it. I cannot describe how a character can go from being, well, Fear personified to the most epic book boyfriend… I just… there aren’t words.
Lance Romero | Pucked Off
He brings my hand up to his face and uncurls my rigid fingers, pressing them against his cheek again. His eyes flutter shut, and he follows with a shaky breath. When his eyes open they’re hot with want. “This feeling – what you do to me – I’ve never had it before, and I don’t want to lose it.”
Lance is one of my newest book boyfriends, but has already been launched to one of my all-time favorites. He’s charming, but troubled and has a ton of baggage, but he falls in love with breathtaking ferocity. Oh, yeah, and he’s got an accent and is a famous hockey player. Done and done!
Joshua Templeman | The Hating Game
I hope it’s not too forward of me to say, but your eyes are incredible, Lucy. I die when you blink.
Josh is my modern day equivalent to Mr. Darcy. He’s misunderstood, a little prickly, but so freaking romantic and swoony I can’t even.
Rowan Whitethorn | Throne of Glass Series
If it was death separating us … I would find you. I don’t care how many
rules it would break. Even if I had to get all three keys myself and open a gate, I would find you again. Always.
Rowan came out of freaking nowhere, much like Rhys, well, even more than Rhys. I feel like I can’t say much here without filling this post with spoilers, but trust me, he is what made me love a series I only just liked previously.
Dimitri Belikov | Vampire Academy
Yet, it had been Dimitri’s gentleness and thoughtfulness mixed with that deadliness that made him so wonderful. The same hands that wielded stakes with such precision would carefully brush the hair out of my face. The eyes that could spot any danger in the area would regard me wonderingly and worshipfully like I was the most beautiful and amazing woman in the world.
Every time I think about Dimitri, it’s like looking fondly back on a relationship with an old boyfriend. Likely because I read the books so long ago, but he definitely has stuck with me. Tall, dark, handsome, brooding, and badass in a duster.
Matthew Clairmont | All Souls Trilogy
My life now has a beginning, a middle, and an end. Everything before was preamble. Now I have you. One day you will be gone, and my life will be over.
I fell in love with Matthew not only because of the series (that I absolutely loved), but because of how Jennifer Ikeda portrayed him in the audiobook. He’s sophisticated and brilliant and powerful and loyal and so yum.
Levi Stewart | Fangirl
“No, I know,” Levi said. “But it’s not you. You don’t push through every moment. You pay attention. You take everything in. I like that about you—I like that better.”
Cath closed her eyes and felt tears catch on her cheeks.
“I like your glasses,” he said. “I like your Simon Snow T-shirts. I like that you don’t smile at everyone, because then, when you smile at me.… Cather.” He kissed her mouth. “Look at me.”
She did.
“I choose you over everyone.”
Levi was so freaking adorable, I had to add him to this list. I love how playful, fun, charming, good-natured, and sweet Levi was. He was like a breath of fresh air after reading books with so many broody book boyfriends. Granted, I have no issue with a broody book boyfriend, but it’s nice to have a spot of sunshine every once in awhile!
Zsadist | Black Dagger Brotherhood Series
I was dead until you found me, though I breathed. I was sightless, though I could see. And then you came…and I was awakened.
Z’s book freaking killed me. I didn’t survive his book because it was that freaking good. He was, by far, the most broken book boyfriend that I ever fell in love with.
Aiden Graves | The Wall of Winnipeg and Me
“I don’t know,” I stuttered, “Do you love me?”
His gaze was so intent the entire world seemed to stop. “You tell me. I never stop thinking about you. I worry about you all the time. Every beautiful thing I see reminds me of you. I can’t finish my practices in Colorado with out wishing you were around,” he said in a steady tone. “You tell me what I feel.”
If I’m being honest, the most attractive thing about Aiden, to me, is how hardworking and focused he is. I love his dedication and loyalty not just to his team, but to Vanessa as well.
OH MY GOSH! I LOVE THEM by extension. And yes, Rhysand, Joshua Templeman, and Levi (also, thank you, because now I can imagine Josh Duhamel as Levi – gosh, that “I choose you over everyone” gets me.) Girl, you know your book boyfriends 😉

I 100% appreciate your preservation with the “10 of my favorite book boyfriends” title!
I on the other hand totally copped out / sold out with my book boyfriend post when I titled it “Top 10 best book boyfriends list” LOL. Gotta get that google SEO clickbait love sometimes. +1 for Zsadist!! Oh my gosh! Wish I thought of him! Great list!!

I would love it if you did! Let me know what you think. My comments are a bit non-existent as I just started book blogging in October.

Is your blog hosted on WordPress? I was trying to find out how to subscribe via wordpress and couldn’t find the link! I’d love to keep up with your posts!
I’m heading over to check out your list now!

It should be hosted with wordpress, as it’s a Managed WordPress site. Though it is self-hosted. I am still pretty new to all of this so I’m not 100% sure! I found you through wordpress reader and sometimes see my own posts pop up on there as well, so I don’t know! 😉

So many good book boyfriends. I have way more than 10, so I wouldn’t be able to choose just a top 10.

Haha agreed, which is why I had to rename it “10 of my Favorite” instead of “Top 10” lol
