Beautiful Darkness (Castor Chronicles #2) by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she’s struggling to conceal her power, and a curse that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town’s oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

In a town with no surprises, one secret could change everything.

Review

Beautiful Darkness if not just as intriguing as Beautiful Creatures, than better! I really liked it and I think it played out very nicely as a continuation of Beautiful Creatures.

It had a lot of intense parts and kept me guessing throughout the book without getting bored. At the end of the story, I really like how it all came together and also lead to the next book.

The story is still told in Ethan’s point of view, which I really enjoyed from Beautiful Creatures.

The seventeenth moon is coming, and at a faster rate. And while it seems as though Lena is slipping right through Ethan’s fingertips, he battles for her and her fate.

How far will he go, and it be worth it? Or is it too late?

Beautiful Darkness had amazing suspense that dumbfounded me!
