Free Ebook & Audible Sale Haul (And More!): 7.24.17

One day I will learn that in order for me to even make a dent in all of the books I own, I need to stop obtaining them faster than I can read them.

That day is not today.

Here are all the books that have been added to my (virtual) shelves recently.

Audible – Listens You’ll Love Sale – $4.95 Each

Audible recently had an awesome sale and two of the books that were on my wish list were under $5, so I grabbed them!

Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

I have been stalking this book since it was compared to A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. I was delighted to see it on sale!

Goodreads synopsis:

Howl's Moving CastleSophie has the great misfortune of being the eldest of three daughters, destined to fail miserably should she ever leave home to seek her fate. But when she unwittingly attracts the ire of the Witch of the Waste, Sophie finds herself under a horrid spell that transforms her into an old lady. Her only chance at breaking it lies in the ever-moving castle in the hills: the Wizard Howl’s castle. To untangle the enchantment, Sophie must handle the heartless Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon, and meet the Witch of the Waste head-on. Along the way, she discovers that there’s far more to Howl—and herself—than first meets the eye.

Paper Princess by Erin Watt

This was on my wishlist for awhile. It’s gotten a lot of mixed reviews from my Goodreads friends, but I was curious enough about it to give it a shot since it is on sale.

Goodreads synopsis:

Paper PrincessFrom strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Beginner’s Guide: Love and Other Chemical Reactions (Talking Nerdy Book 1) by Six de los Reyes

This one takes place in the Phillipines and was only 99 cents. I found this book on this awesome list over on Ellie Reads Fiction. It was already on my TBR list on Goodreads, so I grabbed it!

Goodreads synopsis:

Beginner's Guide Love and Other Chemical ReactionsFalling in love is a chemical reaction.

Just ask Kaya Rubio, twenty-five year-old Molecular Genetics graduate student and research assistant. Fed up with her spinster aunts’ relentless reminders and unsolicited advice regarding her Single Since Birth status, she designs a scientific, evidence-based methodology to find her a suitable partner in time for her cousin’s wedding. As any good scientist knows, any valid experimental design requires a negative control. Enter the most unsuitable candidate for a potential boyfriend: the messy, easygoing, café owner Nero Sison. Her null hypothesis? Going out with Nero would establish her baseline data without catalyzing the chemical reaction she seeks.

But when Kaya’s recorded results refuse to make sense, she is forced to come to the conclusion that there are some things in life that are simply, by nature, irrational and illogical. And that sometimes, chemistry doesn’t always happen inside a lab.

Books for the Readers & Writers Tampa Event

I’m not done researching all the authors that will be attending this event, however of the authors I’ve researched, these two books were both free and had interesting plots, so I downloaded them in preparation for the event!

NORMAL (Something More Book 1) by Danielle Pearl

Goodreads synopsis:

NormalRory is broken, and now suffering from a debilitating anxiety disorder, wrought with precarious triggers, she moves across the country to escape the source of her troubles. Her plan is anonymity, but that’s easier said than achieved for the new girl having a panic episode outside of calculus. The worst part? There’s a witness – and a gorgeous one at that.

Sam is a walking trigger for Rory. Incredibly handsome, built like the star athlete he obviously is, and undoubtedly popular, Sam outwardly represents everything Rory despises about high school. But as the fates keep throwing them together, a connection sparks that neither ever expected, and certainly couldn’t ignore.

But Sam has issues too, and Rory’s past won’t just stay in the damned past. When friendship evolves into something deeper, can a girl utterly destroyed by the worst kind of betrayal and a boy battling demons of his own ever have a normal relationship? Is that even what they want? Find out in NORMAL, a gritty story of trust and abuse, heartbreak and salvation, and if they’re lucky – love. This is not a flowery romance – not for the faint of heart.

FREE Kindle eBooks

Ok, guys, no judgment for how many freaking free ebooks I get from Amazon. Bookbub will be the death of me. Or, at least the death of my free time.

I’m not going to bother posting all the book covers/synopsis and my reasons for downloading all of these books because my criteria for downloading free ebooks is simply that they look vaguely interesting. Because, I mean, bargain! You never know when you will come across a hidden gem! That’s how I found Neanderthal Meets Human by Penny Reid!
